Abstract: Regional geological survey is comprehensive basic work of strategic significance, a basic indication of the level of geological work of a country and a basic function and long-term task of geological agencies of all the countries in the world. To achieve informationization of the full process of regional geological survey is one of the important objectives of the informationization strategy of geological work and the key to changing the traditional way of geological work and raising the modernization level. This paper elucidates the connotation of regional geological survey informationization, analyzes its basic nature and deals with the present status and features of regional geological survey informationization at home and abroad.
